Jeff loves to: I love playing video games with my wife. One of my favorite thing to do is sit in my chair with my Bible, journal, a couple of book and a big cup of coffee. Teaching the Bible is so much fun! I love being with my friends and talking about Jesus. Friends are such a great gift from God! “Few things are greater than a group of Christian friends sitting around a fire” - C.S. Lewis. I love listening to sermons too.
Hero (other than Jesus) is: I like a lot of the Puritans. Modern day hero, has to be John Piper. God has used him to point me to how amazing God is, and that God is the ultimate reward. My main hero, would probably be Charles Spurgeon. He had such a passion for Christ, that it blows me away. The way he preached and lived his life, and wanted souls to come to Christ and been such a testimony to me.
At Starbucks, he gets: A doppio with one sweet n low, filled with cold 2%. If I am splurging, a grande coffee with room, 2 sweet n low, and 2 pumps of white mocha (and no!! I am not worried about the effects of sweet n low!!! So do not email me about the studies on sweet n low! )
He loves the music of: Derek Webb, Jimmy Needham, Shane and Shane, Andy Gulahorn, Ross King, Marc Broussard, Imogean Heap, John Mayer, Mute Math and Watermark.
Jeff’s favorite movie’s are: Cinderella Man, and all of the Bourne Movies.
If you could spend an evening with anyone who lived within the last 1000 years, who would you spend it with: Man, this is a tough one. I would love to hang with Charles Spurgeon and learn everything I could from him about ministry and walking with God. He had an amazing walk and impact for Christ. I also wouldn’t mind George Washington Carver, he did invent peanut butter after all.
I do my best thinking: Oddly enough, when I am in the shower.
My dream vacation would be: It would involve: no cell phone, no laptop, my wife, my daughter, my closest friends, air conditioning, good food, a beach, sleeping in, some good books and free. (Don’t care where...just give me those elements!)
My favorite books so far are: God is the Gospel, Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ, The Dangerous Duty of Delight and The Supremacy of God in Preaching by John Piper; C.H. Tozer, The Valley of Vision, The Reformation: How a monk and a mallet changed the world by Stephen Nichols, The Mortification of Sin in Believers by John Owen & Preaching and Preachers by Martyn Lloyd-Jones.
